Green and Sustainable Finance

Hunter Reid Green has been formed to focus on recruitment into the green and sustainable finance markets.

Investment into this sector has become at the forefront of lending strategies across many financial institutions.

By 2030 the European Commission estimates that there will need to be additional annual investment of €240 billion to meet the EU's climate and energy targets and London currently sits at the top of the global green finance index. At Hunter Reid Green we are committed to providing recruitment solutions to support the institutions providing that investment.

As a company, supporting this sector also aligns with our own values of green recruitment where we consciously aim for paperless recruitment with minimal environmental impact as part of a wider net zero commitment.

Green and sustainable finance is a broad term, and we focus on several key asset classes and job specialisms in the sector. Our definition of what assets fall into this category include,

  • Solar
  • EV and infrastructure
  • Renewable Energy
  • Transportation.
  • Technology assets – data storage, circular economy.

As the sector evolves, there will also be significant new asset classes that enter the mainstream.

The types of jobs we recruit include the following,

  • business development and origination,
  • transaction management,
  • credit and risk,
  • operations,
  • legal
  • asset management
  • ESG Specialists

Our clients are banks and financial institutions that have specialist teams in green and sustainable financing. These include corporate and commercial banks, leasing and asset finance companies, manufacturers, investment banks, funds, consulting firms and equity houses.

Our geographical focus is the UK but anticipate that this will develop into supporting activities in the key international hubs of green and sustainable financing so wherever you are located, we would like to speak to you.

We believe this will form a significant part of what our business looks like moving forwards and are excited to position ourselves at the forefront of recruitment providers who are supporting this sector.

We have already proactively built a database of candidates that are active in this sector, which continues to quickly expand as the market matures.

For clients, we believe we are extremely well placed to be able to support what you do now, and in the future, and for candidates, the green and sustainable finance sector represents an exciting opportunity for specialists looking to forge a career in this dynamic area of financing.

Demand for staff in this sector will be extremely high and will outstrip the level of experienced candidates in the market for some time. Whether you are already working in this area or if you have an interest in transferring your skills from another finance sector, we will always be interested in talking to you.
