Contingent, or success only recruitment is the core of what we do at Hunter Reid.

We use our extensive, sector-focussed database that has been built up over 20 years, alongside our referral network, to identify the most suitable candidates for your job. Constant monitoring and updating of our database enables us to often bring you candidates that are not actively looking to move.

Our approach is very diligent and is centred around identifying candidates working in the right organisations doing the right job who can add value to your business. We work closely with you at the start of each assignment to ensure we fully understand the brief. This covers not only the responsibilities but also the culture of your company with this being at least 50% of a candidate’s suitability for a role.

Once we fully commence the role we take a headhunting approach to contingent assignments, proactively targeting suitable candidates in competitor companies whilst also underpinning each role with our database. Our focus is on quality rather than quantity with the aim to provide you with 3 to 5 CV’s for each role.

We interview all candidates very thoroughly. When we submit a candidate to you can expect their full CV unchanged by us as we believe that it's important that the CV is exactly as the candidate has written it.

In addition, you will receive a candidate overview with the CV which talks you through their career journey and offers an insight into a candidate’s personality and perception of themselves. This detailed approach at the outset ensures relevance of candidate to your role. 94% of CV’s we submit are selected for interview.

At interview you will find candidates who are well prepared and fully briefed on the role. We encourage candidates to do their own research about you as a company rather than feed them this information. Again, this is part of ensuring that they display the right attitude towards securing the role.

We speak to candidates as soon as possible after an interview to get their feedback and call you to talk it through.  It is important to us that when we represent you in the market and speak to candidates about roles at your company, that we deliver all feedback in a professional and timely manner.  If the candidate is unsuccessful from a job interview with you, we ensure they leave the process with a positive impression of their interaction with your company.

Once we get to offer stage, we work very closely with the candidate to make sure this runs smoothly,  from the receiving and returning of the contract through their resignation and notice period.  This can sometimes be a long and lonely time for the candidate waiting to start the new role, so we ensure we are in regular contact with them during this time. As part of the post placement follow-up we will speak to you and your new hire around one month into the role just to make sure the onboarding has gone well and as expected.
