We suggest retained search only when we genuinely believe that it is the right approach for the specific role. This would typically be for roles with a basic salary above &pound;100,000, or&nbsp; for highly specialised and/or confidential jobs when we know that success will likely come from proactively headhunting rather than assume that the ideal candidates are sitting on our database or actively looking.<h5>We take a slightly different approach to retained search.</h5>I have long held the belief that with traditional retained search fee structures, as the client, you can have paid 66% of the overall fee without having seen or interviewed a candidate. We believe there should be much more emphasis on our ability to find you what you want.Therefore, we structure our retained fees as follows;25% of the fee at initial stage when we start the process,25% after first interviews to ensure we have presented you the calibre of candidates that you want to take further through your hiring process.50% balance is due on start date.In that way, we believe we are sharing the risk equally with you.The following is an example of how we approach a retained search and what to expect from us;<h5>Scoping of the Role and Discovery Session;</h5>In conjunction with the key stakeholders from the client, through a detailed briefing meeting or call, we will define a role profile, with a job description, cultural oversight and key competencies required. This will build the candidate profile for the search.<h5>Proactive Search;</h5>Working with you to identify search parameters and then using my detailed knowledge of the specialist markets I cover, including cards and payments, consumer and retail finance, professions finance, asset finance, fleet and motor finance, fintech and alternative lenders, I will identify and headhunt qualified individuals who have the skills to undertake the role.In addition, my internal database built up over the past 20 years will be explored to underpin this search.This search can be unrestricted geographically within the UK.<h5>As part of the process, I will:</h5><ul><li>Work with my client to provide job descriptions, additional relevant information and any NDA&rsquo;s as required.</li><li>Provide weekly updates on progress via a WIP spreadsheet and video or phone call.</li><li>Present my client with my qualified short-list of candidates, to include CV and detailed candidate summary. I propose this is done via a meeting/video call where I talk through each candidate and reason for inclusion.</li><li>Provide my client with details of all candidates approached for the role and reasons for candidates not being included on the shortlist. This will also include valuable feedback about perception of your company and role from the market.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality at all times.</li></ul><h5>Screening Process</h5>I will commit to:<ul><li>Interview all candidates before CV&rsquo;s are forwarded to you. This will be face-to-face or via video where possible.</li><li>Provide a detailed candidate summary, including current remuneration package and future expectations.</li><li>Brief candidates in full on the opportunity.</li><li>If required, be present during your interviews with the candidates.</li><li>Give you timely candidate feedback post any interviews.</li></ul><h5>Closing the Assignment</h5>In order to ensure a seamless close to the process I will also:<ul><li>Maintain involvement at all stages.</li><li>Undertake to negotiate all offers on your behalf.</li><li>Manage candidate&rsquo;s expectations to ensure positive closure.</li><li>Proactively manage the candidate&rsquo;s resignation process and subsequent on-boarding with you.</li></ul><h5>Post Placement:</h5>We schedule a follow up call at the end of month one and month three with both with you and with the candidate to discuss progress in the role and to ensure a seamless introduction into your company,<h5>Process Timetable</h5>The following is provided for guidance purposes and is based on my experience. Our focus is on quality rather than quantity with the aim to provide you with 3 to 5 CV&rsquo;s for each role.We interview all candidates very thoroughly. When we submit a candidate to you can expect their full CV unchanged by us as we believe that it's important that the CV is exactly as the candidate has written it.In addition, you will receive a candidate overview with the CV which talks you through their career journey and offers an insight into a candidate&rsquo;s personality and perception of themselves. This detailed approach at the outset ensures relevance of candidate to your role. 94% of CV&rsquo;s we submit are selected for interview.At interview you will find candidates who are well prepared and fully briefed on the role. We encourage candidates to do their own research about you as a company rather than feed them this information. Again, this is part of ensuring that they display the right attitude towards securing the role.We speak to candidates as soon as possible after an interview to get their feedback and call you to talk it through. &nbsp;It is important to us that when we represent you in the market and speak to candidates about roles at your company, that we deliver all feedback in a professional and timely manner.&nbsp; If the candidate is unsuccessful from a job interview with you, we ensure they leave the process with a positive impression of their interaction with your company.Once we get to offer stage, we work very closely with the candidate to make sure this runs smoothly, &nbsp;from the receiving and returning of the contract through their resignation and notice period. &nbsp;This can sometimes be a long and lonely time for the candidate waiting to start the new role, so we ensure we are in regular contact with them during this time. <h5>In much the same way as when I interview candidates, I want to give you an insight into who I am and what to expect if we get the opportunity to work together.</h5>My early career was in the retail sector with Harrods in Knightsbridge, an organisation world-renowned for having supreme levels of service. From there I managed the retail store at Chelsea FC before moving into recruitment in 1999 &nbsp;working for a US accountancy recruiter. In 2002 I switched across into recruiting for the leasing and asset finance sector which has remained the core of what I do. I then set up Hunter Reid Recruitment Solutions in 2017 with a view to creating a niche, service-centric business building on the best practices I&rsquo;ve learnt from the companies and people I&rsquo;ve worked with along the way.Service is the cornerstone of everything I do and when I think about what service means to me, I simply ask &ldquo;What would I expect if I was sitting on the other side of the table from a recruiter?&rdquo; For me that is clarity, honesty, being accessible and doing what you say you&rsquo;re going to do.&nbsp;Whenever I am interviewing candidates, or speaking with clients about their company and job opportunities, there are questions I will always ask;&ldquo;What makes you good at what you do?&rdquo; and &ldquo;How would people describe you?&rdquo; &nbsp;These give me a really good insight into how you perceive yourself, and perhaps how others perceive you as well.To answer those questions for you, I believe my strengths are in my relationship building and the ability to listen and understand both what clients require, but also recognising a candidate&rsquo;s skills and motivation. I'm genuinely interested by people, what they do and how they do it.I think people describe me as a good listener, empathetic, knowledgeable about my markets and fun to be around.Outside of work, I&rsquo;m married to Camilla, a headteacher. We have two daughters, Clara and Mabel, as well as Spider, our miniature dachshund. We live in Kent having relocated with Camilla's work in the summer of 2023. As far as interests, &nbsp;I love sport, with the painful affliction of being a Norwich City football fan and am also a very keen golfer having played since I was young.What you can expect from me as your recruiter is somebody that takes time to listen and somebody that genuinely cares about the impact that I may have on either your business or your individual career journey.
